iVMS-4500 Error Code 8200 - Stream Encryption


When using the iVMS-4500 mobile software to connect to your NVR, there are several reason why "Connection failed Error Code: 8200" is displayed.

Some possible reason may be:

1. Incorrect network configuration of the device.

2. Incorrect port forwarding.

3. Poor network condition.

However we have recently found that enabling "stream encryption" on your NVR will also cause the "8200 connection error".

This option needs to be turned off if you are going to the iVMS-4500 mobile software to connect remotely to your NVR.

To disable this feature via the NVR menus do the following:

1. Login to your NVR

2. Navigate to Configuration->Network->Platform Access

3. Uncheck "Enable Stream Encryption"

4. Click on "Apply"

The stream encryption option can also be turned off using the Hik-Connect mobile app as follows:

1. Open up Hik-Connect App.

2. Select Device

3. Select the "gear icon" top right hand corner

4. Turn off "Image Encryption"
